DUTIES: Bilingual Center #33 is implementing a program designed to meet its students’
needs inspired by the Reggio Emilia model of teaching that highlights the following: the role of
collaboration among children, teachers and parents; the co-construction of knowledge; the
interdependence of individual and social learning; and using the role of culture in understanding
this interdependence. (Baji Rankin 2004). At the heart of this system is always the child. In
this program, children develop the understanding that they are capable of building their own

- implement NYS Visual Arts standards-based lesson plans that are aligned to Common Core Learning Standards
- work collaboratively with all teachers and staff in the development of units and lesson plans that support the program’s philosophy
- facilitate K-2 art education classes using small and large group instructional strategies and best practices
- work collaboratively with parents, community members, and educational stakeholders in the development of exhibitions and other arts-centered school events
