INSTRUCTIONAL COACH ASSIGNED TO THE PREKINDERGARTEN DEPARTMENT
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training,
experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must be a NYS certified teacher currently employed with contract OR probationary status in the Buffalo Public Schools. Preference will be
given to individuals with course work and/or experience in the area of Prekindergarten.
- Possess a deep understanding of students of PreKindergarten age (4 years old), and thorough knowledge of Prekindergarten curriculum and instructional models.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and how applies to information literacy skills and student learning, especially in relation to the Prekindergarten Foundations of Common Core Learning Standards.
- Must be able to create units of study to foster differentiation, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving
- Possess thorough knowledge of State regulations as they relate to Prekindergarten
- Demonstrate knowledge of multiple staff development models and approaches
- Show the ability to plan, lead and facilitate staff development opportunities with a variety of stakeholders
- Plan and carry out model lessons aligned to Prekindergarten Foundations of Common Core Learning Standards and current models of early literacy and Building Blocks
- Plan parent involvement events and training sessions to help parents work with their children at home.
- Provide regular communication with parents to keep them informed of events and opportunities at the school.
- Maintain a Prekindergarten web page for professional purposes
- Performs other duties as assigned
