NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Donald Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Afterschool Credit Accrual and Recovery Program School Counselor

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and have a New York State certificate for School Counselor. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of effective academic guidance support with academically challenged students and be able to effectively use the student information system (Infinite Campus) to create schedules, verify attendance, assist in assigning grades and verifying transcripts. The counselor will also communicate with high school counselors via email during the program hours. Candidates must possess a recognized interest in developing authentic and meaningful professional relationships with youth who struggle academically.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Afterschool Credit Accrual and Recovery Program School Counselors will work under the supervision of the Principal/Assistant Principal. The Principal, as the responsible head and educational leader of the school will assure compliance with state education law and Commissioner’s Regulations. The assignment includes:
- 50 hours throughout the year at the discretion of the administrator (not to exceed 3 hours per day after-school)
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent following the assessment of training, experience, credentials, evaluation of service, program needs and interview.
SALARY: Per teacher salary schedule
