NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Donald A Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from
qualified candidates for the position of:
Extended Learning Time- Afterschool Program at School #197 MST
APPLICATION:
Candidates interested in applying must complete an online application on the district web site at

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid General Education and/or Special Education New York certificate in grades K-12 and be currently employed with
the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher.
Candidates must also hold a valid certification in Elementary Education, Special Education, English as a Second Language, Physical Education,
Math, English Language Arts, Music, Art, Home and Careers, Reading, or hold certification as a School Counselor. Preference will be given to
teachers applying to teach at their own grade level.
In addition, candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 2 days a week Monday – Thursday for 2 hours a day.
Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum provided to them, as well as supplement as needed with supervisors’ approval.
Teachers are expected to provide support & positive interaction with students, administer pre and post assessments, maintain attendance,
and as needed, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child.

- Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with students.
- Provide instruction to students’ in ELA and Math that is aligned to the CCLS. Special area teachers may apply as well to teach in their subject area and provided additional classroom support.
- Prepare lessons for students using curriculum provided by school administrator.
- Outside planning time will be necessary.
- Teachers will be required to work a minimum of 2 hours a day, 2 days per week of the 4 day program (M-TH), program hours are 2:50 PM - 4:50 PM.
- Complete and comply with all NYS Office of Children & Family Services paperwork and regulations.
- Attend mandatory program training after school.
