NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Donald Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates
for the position of Assessment Review Committee members for the following committees to serve as needed from
December, 2014 –August 31, 2016:
Elementary ELA/Reading (K-6)
Secondary ELA (7-12)
Elementary Math (K-6)
Secondary Math (7-12)
Elementary Science (K-8)
Secondary Science (non-Regents)
Social Studies
Visual and Performing Arts
Physical Education/ Health
LOTE/ ESL/ Bilingual
CTE

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State certification and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured
teacher. Candidates must also have knowledge of the Common Core Learning Standards and assessment writing protocols.
DUTIES:
Assessment review committees will work directly with the Teaching Is the Core Grant manager and subject area and/or curriculum
administrators. Committees must complete a variety of training and assignments within a mandated time frame. Assignments
include but are not limited to reviewing, revising or re-writing of existing BPS created Annual Professional Performance Review
post assessments, common formative assessments, and program benchmark assessments aligned to the Common Core Learning
Standards. Committee members will be compensated to participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills
required to fulfill responsibilities of related committee work
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent following assessment
of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Per hourly contractual teacher salary schedule.
