POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Secondary Alternate Instruction Teachers GRADES 9-12

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and have a New York State teaching certificate in elementary education.
The candidate must have a demonstrated record of effective academic and social-emotional results with behaviorally challenging youth.
Candidates must possess a recognized interest in developing authentic and meaningful professional relationships with youth who struggle
academically and behaviorally. Candidates must possess a demonstrated record of improved results for students both academically and
socially in their current assignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Alternate Instruction teachers will work under the supervision of the Principal/Assistant Principal. The Principal, as the responsible head and
educational leader of the school will assure compliance with state education law and Commissioner’s Regulations. The assignment includes:
- 2 hours per day up to 8 hours total per week
- Monday - Thursday.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following the assessment of training, experience,
credentials, evaluation of service and interview by the building principal. Principals may select multiple candidates to establish an after-school instructional
schedule. They may also elect to conduct such a program during the school day as an integrated component of the contractual regular hours of work with
existing staff allocations, forgoing the provisions of this posting.
