                                                                                        NOTICE OF POSITION

POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee members for the following committees to serve as needed from: February 2017 – August 2019.
 

                                                           Extended Learning Time Curriculum Committees:

                                                                                Elementary (Reading) K-6

                                                                                Elementary (Mathematics) K-6

                                                                                English Language Arts 7-12

                                                                                Mathematics – Grades 7-12

                                                                                Science Grades 7-12

                                                                                Social Studies 7-12

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold appropriate New York State certification in the subject area applied for or hold New York State certification in English as a Second Language or Special Education. Candidates must also be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher, have knowledge of the Common Core Learning Standards and knowledge of application of scientifically-based research.

DUTIES:
Extended Learning Curriculum Committees will work directly with the extended learning and/or subject area administrators. Committees must complete a variety of assignments within a mandated time frame. Assignments included but are not limited to developing pertinent curriculum documents for the city-wide Summer Camp program and district-wide After School Programs.

APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.

SALARY:            Committee members will be paid at the contractual rate.
