POSITION: 
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Donald A. Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates
for the position of:

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be a New York State certified school psychologist.  Candidates must have extensive knowledge of the role of the
Committee on Special Education, Federal and State regulations pertaining to Special Education including the educational benefit review
process, extensive knowledge of measuring student response to intervention (RTI), and successful parent relations in a school
or district setting.

Candidates must also be able to or have:
• Knowledge of transition services and transition planning activity to facilitate postsecondary planning.
• Experience engaging internal and external stakeholders to facilitate transition.
• Ability to meet established deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate team activities.
• Satisfactory written, oral communication skills, and computer skills.

    
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a mandated member of the Committee on Special Education
• Conduct mandated Psychological/Educational evaluations per State and Federal Regulations
• Prepare written reports and assist in the development of Individual Education Plans for students with disabilities including computer input into IEP software. 
• Work with general and special education students in classrooms and individually to provide both academic and behavioral Response to Intervention (RTI). 
• Work with teachers and staff to develop appropriate Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans and to implement any district academic and behavioral initiatives. 
• Responsible for the coordination of recruitment, intervention and budgeting and data collection activities of schools participating as PROMISE research demonstration project.
• Obtain Social Security Administration (SSA) security clearance to handle sensitive data.
• Attend regular and intermittent meetings with Cornell University PROMISE personnel to discuss and update on progress of research demonstration sites.
• Create, monitor, and terminate user accounts for the New York Employment Service system (NYESS System).
• Ensure that all NYESS users obtain detailed training on the use of the system.
• Monitor all referral, service billing, and documentation of services.
• Complete data matching and updates in the NYESS system.
• Attend regular and intermittent meetings with regional parent center personnel to review and discuss participant recruitment strategy
• Duties assigned by the principal administering the Promise research project for the district.

 

APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be made by the Interim Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of
service.  Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
