NOTICE OF POSITION

 
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr.Tonja M. Williams Knight, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee members for the following committee to serve as needed from  September 2025 - June 2026
                                                

MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM COMMITTEE MEMBER
For ALL grade levels, K through 12, and for ALL Mathematics courses

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State teacher certification, be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher and have knowledge of the Common Core Learning Standards and the Next Generation Learning Standards for Mathematics. Candidates must ALSO either be currently teaching mathematics, working as a Support Math Teacher (SMT), working as a Coach, or working as a department TOSA.

DUTIES:
Curriculum committees will work directly with the subject area administrators. Committees must complete a variety of tasks within a mandated time frame. Assignments include, but are not limited to, evaluating instructional materials and developing pertinent curriculum documents aligned to the Common Core and Next Generation Learning Standards. Committee members will participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related committee work.

APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
 


SALARY
:                Committee members will be paid at the contractual rate.
