POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screen shot of their certifications. New York State Licensure and Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is preferred. Experience completing speech-language evaluations preferred. Candidates must have knowledge of ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology, Medicaid Regulations, and Federal and State Regulations pertaining to Speech-Language Pathology. Candidates must have application knowledge of various Speech-Language assessment tools. Candidates must also possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
Priority in the selection of teachers will be given to qualified permanent/tenured/probationary/temporary Buffalo Public School teachers in order of summer school seniority. Summer school seniority is defined as previous years of BPS summer employment in a classroom setting. Only current and active BPS employees earn summer school seniority.

DUTIES:
The duties include, but will not be limited to:
- Performing observations and consultations
- Administering Speech-Language evaluations
- Completing IEP Direct input
- Writing reports required by the Committee on Special Education (CSE)
- Assisting the CSE in the appropriate development and implementation of Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Inputting Medicaid billing into Kinney
- May be required to attend CSE meetings and consult with other professional disciplines, vendors, parents, and school personnel
- Completing other duties deemed necessary and appropriate.

Candidates for Buffalo Public Schools Summer School are eligible to work for ONLY ONE of the summer programs.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials, and evaluation of experience. Personal Interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: As per the current BTF contract for daily rate
