POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr.Tonja M. Williams Knight, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
After Hours Remote Instruction Teacher for Suspended Students
General Education and Special Education Teachers
Grades K-6: 2 hours per day up to 10 hours total per week Mon. – Fri.
Grades 7-12: 3 hours per day up to 15 hours total per week Mon. – Fri

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be a current BPS Teacher.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate virtual age/ grade appropriate instructional lessons assigned by the suspended student’s regular classroom teacher.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Record and take accurate attendance each day and report the attendance to the school clerk and the student’s regular teacher.
- Where appropriate, use various learning materials and resources.
- Utilize differentiated instructional methods to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of virtual and/or in-person learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant district technology to support instruction including but not limited to Schoology.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development during lessons.
- Accept and receive class work, homework, tests, and assignments and give them to the student’s regularly assigned teacher for the purpose of grading.
- Provide appropriate feedback on student work.
- Monitor and encourage individual student progress.
- Provide guidance to students which will promote educational development.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
- Establish virtual classroom rules and expected student behavior.
- Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians to monitor virtual student participation.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointments will be made based on seniority and certification areas.
SALARY: BTF Contractual rate
