POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree, and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA), New York State School Supervisor (SAS), School District Leader (SDL), or School Building Leader (SBL) Certificate. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model. Three years of appropriate experience in a pupil personnel services tenure area preferred. Candidates with experience in school counseling and alternative instruction are encouraged to apply
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) Education Bargain with Students and Parents focuses on providing students and parents with a pathway to opportunity that will lead to achievement and success. Services for our Neediest Children and Families is one of the focus areas in executing a commitment to students and parents. Under the direction of the Director of Crisis Prevention and Intervention Supports, the Supervisor of Student Support Services will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Assist in the development, coordination and administration of student support programs designed to address the needs of the district’s neediest children and parents.
- Assist in the development, coordination, and administration of Medical Leave Home Instruction, Hospital Instruction, and Alternate Education related programs.
- Ensures compliance with NYS regulations.
- Manage budgets for each program.
- Develop short- and long-term goals for identified initiatives to increase the capacity of the district’s ability to provide services to students enrolled in these programs.
- Gather, validate, analyze, and disseminate various types of student support data. Update and maintain records accordingly.
- Develop and provide training to teachers providing the identified program services to ensure all students have structured learning.
- Oversee clerical staff assigned to the department.
Other duties deemed necessary by the Director of Crisis Prevention and Intervention Supports for the successful operation of the department
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following the assessment of training, experience, credentials, evaluation of service, program needs, and personal interview.
SALARY: Per Administrator salary schedule
