POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ebony Prophet-Bullock, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree and must hold a valid School District Administrator (SDA), School District Leader (SDL) certification, or the new New York State Administrator certification at time of application. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years combined teaching and supervisory experience, with a minimum of two (2) years at the supervisory level. Experience in working with: external providers, multiple schools and systems, deadlines, and autonomously will be considered in evaluating each candidate’s qualifications. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills are also required for this position. Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of the laws affecting public education in State of New York, the policies of the Buffalo Board of Education, and the New Education Bargain. Candidates should have a clear understanding of the role of data analysis in determining program effectiveness, as well as knowledge of school operations. Exceptional conceptual, analytical, organizational and management skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills are also required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director for the Office of School Leadership will be charged with the full-time responsibility of working under the direction of the Associate Superintendents of School Leadership and will require a great deal of adaptability.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting all aspects of the Associate Superintendents’ responsibilities, including communication with building administrators, central office personnel, and community partners; attendance at meetings representing the Office of School Leadership; developing, implementing, and facilitating Office of School Leadership meetings and initiatives at the direction of the Associate Superintendents; and coordination of Office of School Leadership staff members, as necessary.
- Serving as a direct liaison between the Associate Superintendents and the school communities they serve.
- Planning and executing professional development activities and developing materials to support schools in the full implementation of their school education and improvement plans.
- Supporting schools in the development, implementation and monitoring of school improvement plans.
- Prepare and submit to NYSED reports and documents required by the District and serve as a liaison between the Office of School Leadership and NYSED.
- Supervise assigned staff.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following the assessment of training, experience, credentials, evaluation of service, program needs, and personal interview.
SALARY: Per Administrator salary schedule
