NOTICE OF POSITION

POSITION:
Superintendent, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
SUMMER 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates MUST be a current substitute teacher with Buffalo Public Schools.  

LOCATIONS, TIMES, and DATES:  Subject to change according to the needs of the district 

SEE DATES FOR EACH PROGRAM: 

Candidates for Buffalo Public Schools Summer School are eligible to work for one of the summer programs only.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Summer School Program substitute teachers will provide the following educational assistance:

• Providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. 
• May implement teacher lesson plans, assign student class work and homework, and maintain classroom control and discipline. 
• May be required to complete a daily report or evaluation to communicate any pertinent information resulting from the day's events. 
• Establishing effective working relationships with staff and students is very important.
• Other duties assigned by the building Administrator or his/her Administrative designee.

The employee will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other related duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator or supervisor. Please review the dates carefully. FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE STUDENTS AND CONTINUITY OF THE PROGRAM, TEACHERS ARE EXPECTED TO SERVE THE FULL TERM OF THE PROGRAM.

APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.



SALARY:    Substitute daily rate based on SUBSTITUTE UNION contract.
