NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ebony E. Prophet-Bullock, Ed.D., is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
EXTENDED LEARNING TIME
TEACHERS, GRADES K- 12
Teachers should ONLY apply to this posting if they are interested in working after-school at a school outside of their assigned school
Planning hours:
Week of October 13 (up to 6 hours after contractual day)
After-school Program Dates:
Elementary Schools: start week of October 19, 2026- June 3, 2027
High Schools: October 19- June 14
Actual dates and times vary by school
Location, dates and times: Determined upon needs and qualifications and school day assignment
*Candidates should apply internally at their assigned school first
*Teachers are only eligible for openings that do not interfere with school day assignments

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid NYS teaching certification in: General Education, ENL, Special Education or content area and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher. Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum and district resources to provide academic and enrichment opportunities for students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration to provide an effective after-school program. Building administrators design after-school programs to meet the needs of students and the school.
- Provide instruction to students in Grades K – 12 per the school's after school program design
- Teacher assignments are based upon qualifications, certifications, and training
- Instructing students on grade-level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches, and working with students in need of academic support
- Homework support
- Qualified teachers can be assigned to teach/support programs and enrichment courses as needed, such as:
- Connexus online coursework
- CLRI programs such as My Brothers Keeper and My Sisters Keeper
- Specialty enrichment program
- Other responsibilities as determined necessary by the building administration
The building principals will make the appointment and select candidates who best match the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
